By using specialized EMF (Electromagnetic Field) microphones, we captured the internal electrical pulses of hardware like old-school VHS machines, printers, razors, and high-speed drills directly from the source.

By layering the physical mechanics with their own internal electrical activity, we've created sounds that don't just sound like machines — they feel technologically 'alive' and authentic.

This process allows sound designers to merge the mechanical skeleton of a robot with its digital "nervous system," providing a sophisticated edge that is essential for modern high-tech productions.

Perhaps the most exhilarating phase of developing the Construction Kit was the creation of the MECHANICS-Processed Glitch category. To capture the specific "biological-mechanical" character that defines a modern robotic lifeform, we embarked on an extensive R&D phase, testing various processing methods to find the unique signature required for sci-fi robotics.

We primarily reached our goal through granular processing, utilizing Uhbik-G and the advanced granular engine found in Minimal Audio's Current. The objective was to craft textures that successfully bridge the gap between cold hardware and sentient sci-fi entities. These processed sounds twitch, stutter, and breathe with a digital pulse, providing the perfect toolkit for designers looking to imbue their bots with a sense of autonomous, digital intelligence.
