SUPPORT

No worries. We'll get you sorted. Contact us.

If you are having problems downloading your library, please try the following:

  • Avoid using Google Chrome! There is a current issue with Google Chrome in which transfers will complete and then fail at the last second. This is a known browser issue that applies to large files. If you experience errors downloading when using Chrome, try your download again in a different browser.

  • Avoid using a download manager. Download managers send multiple requests and create multiple connections to our servers – each one counting as a download. As a result you may exceed your download limit.

  • Ensure that no 3rd party application, software or browser extension (ie. Internet Security, Antivirus or Firewall) is causing issues with your download.

  • Make sure to limit your downloads to a single download at a time.

  • If you’re connected via WIFI, try connecting your computer directly to a router or modem.

  • Try downloading the file on another browser, or if the issue persists, another computer altogether.

  • Check your router to see if you have any content filtering enabled.

  • Check with your ISP to make sure that you haven’t exceeded any download limits.

All of our archives, including our libraries, are compressed using .RAR format. This popular format allows for maximum file size reduction, enabling our users with faster download times. If for some reason you are unable to open your library, please download WinRAR. It's safe, free, and available on both MAC and PC.

All our libraries are rich in metadata. Our metadata describes our sounds' character, material, speed, weight, and more... To access metadata, we recommend that you acquire an audio file management solution like Soundminer or Basehead. It's important to know that many DAWs already have the capability of displaying audio file metadata from their built in audio file search windows.

Alternatively, you can refer to the DATA SHEET included in your library. You can also download data sheets for our libraries on our website. Each library has it's corresponding data sheet available for download on its product page.

LIBRARIES

We're a team of award winning game audio professionals that have spent the last two decades working on AAA games, spreading across a wide spectrum of genres and platforms. We've united to create Rock The Speakerbox, a Game Audio service provider for developers, and an HD Library developer for games, film and web.

When our crew isn't busy designing sounds, mixing cinematics and trailers, or tuning an audio experience for VR, they're in the field, capturing awesome material for our libraries. We design libraries that we also pull from when supporting our clients.

Most of our libraries consist of two main categories of sounds. Construction kit sounds, and designed sounds. The former consists of precision mastered source content, meticulously tagged with rich metadata. The latter consists of composited and layered (designed) material put forth by our award winning sound designers. All designed material within our libraries consists of source material from its corresponding construction kits.

Most of the files in our libraries contain variations within the same audio file. We want to make sure that our users have access to multiple variations of the same type of sound to provide maximum flexibility, minimizing repetition across projects.

Also, we believe that consolidating multiple sounds within a single audio file reduces spam when searching for sounds within a sound effects search tool.

All our sounds are uncompressed WAV Files compatible with just about any audio editor, sequencer or DAW including but not limited to Pro Tools, Cubase, Ableton, Reaper, Logic, etc...

LICENSING

When you purchase one of our libraries, you acquire a single user license for that library, allowing you to utilize the sounds in a commercial and non commercial capacity for music, sound-effect, audio/video post-production, performance, broadcast or similar finished content-creation and production use. It allows you to combine the content you’ve purchased for commercial recordings without paying any additional license fees or providing source attribution to us.

You cannot create your own sound effect library or music cues with Rock The Speakerbox material as a stand-alone-product and resell it.

Yes. When purchasing a library, you obtain a perpetual single user license that allows for you to use the sounds in any project you deem fit without additional licensing or royalty fees.

Any entity with more than one user is not allowed to use our libraries without a multi-user or site license. When you purchase a library from our website or via our resellers, you are purchasing a single user license. Single user licenses apply to a single person, whereas if you represent a company and wish to purchase a license for a team or facility, you require a multi-user or site license.

To obtain a multi-user or site license, contact us. To learn more about our terms and conditions, click here.

You can put the sounds on several computers without an extra license in the following cases:

  • You purchased a single user license and you’re the only person accessing the sounds. You can put the sounds on several of your workstations (e.g. laptop, desktop).
  • You have multiple audio workstations in your studio but only one sound designer. You can put the sound on all of your workstations. As soon as you have more people that will access the sounds simultaneously, you need to upgrade to an enterprise license.

In case you need to upgrade from a personal license to a multi user or site license so that more than one user can access the sounds simultaneously, please contact us.
